The Paris Chapter: 20 - 26 Nov
Afghan sound healing, animal orchestras, Jane Austen dance class, Créole jazz, a Japanese festival, Napoli cinema, an upcycling atelier, anti-opera and more.
“If you don’t change direction, you may end up where you’re heading” - Lao Tzu
A quick dispatch from Marrakech, where I’m situated this week to lead a workshop on autonoetic consciousness and its future-proofing capabilities. Sounds mystical, but it’s actually birthed in neuroscience - when put to task with spatial visualisation and somatic intelligence exercises, it helps our brains (and bodies) better equip for the complexities ahead.
“I contain multitudes”, said Walt Whitman, who staunchly declared himself Parisian though he never set foot in France. For me, Paris is a perfect example of intersecting elements at work - where else values intellect so highly, while equally serving creative expression and honouring sensorial pleasure?
If you missed last week’s announcement, there’s now a referral program in place for premium memberships, aka: get rewarded for helping others have a better week in Paris (and for helping me get this creative beast of mine further out in the world).
Art salve
Musée Bourdelle (14e)
I’ll be honest, I’ve been holding this one close to my chest: it’s one of my all-time favourite Paris museums, the perfect Goldilocks mix of large enough to merit the metro ride, yet not so well known that you can’t see the artworks for the people.
Bourdelle’s large-scale sculptures are featured both inside and out, with the chance to also explore the studio where he brought them all to life.
